Marking

The 2007 marking of the WALNA assessment tasks took place between 18 – 31 August.  Qualified teachers undertook the marking.

Participation in the marking is recognised by the Professional Learning Institute as system-endorsed professional development. 

2008 MARKING

In 2008, all States and Territories will conduct common national assessments in literacy and numeracy for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students. The assessments will take place in schools in the week beginning 12 May 2008 and marking will commence on 23 May 2008.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential
Teaching qualifications
Desirable

Previous experience in marking WALNA 2002-2006 or MSE9 assessments Other MSE or system level marking
Interest in literacy assessment and development.

Both primary and secondary teachers are encouraged to apply. Teachers who are employed at a school will need to obtain the principal's endorsement to participate in the marking.
