| The English Assessment |
The Reading and Writing Outcomes of the English Learning Area will be assessed.Students will complete · one Reading assessment of 60 minutes · one Writing assessment of 60 minutes The Reading assessment will include imaginative, informational and persuasive texts that are relevant to a range of curriculum areas. For the Writing assessment, students will be required to write an essay. For the Reading assessment, students will be required to use the conventions of the various text types to locate, interpret, infer and evaluate information within the context of the texts' production and reception. For the Writing Assessment, approximately 30 minutes is spent generating ideas through discussion and planning, and approximately 30 minutes is spent writing.
