Gender issues


It is important to offer both gifted girls and gifted boys the opportunity to develop to their full potential. We can do this by raising the awareness of discriminatory practices, by taking action to ensure that curriculum materials and teaching strategies are gender inclusive, and by keeping options and choices open.

Gender issues for gifted girls

Gifted girls often view their giftedness with ambivalence and see more disadvantages than gifted boys in being gifted. They are more concerned about the impact of their giftedness on the attitudes of others and on their relationships.
