What is the "It Pays to Learn Allowance"?

The State Government's It Pays to Learn Allowance aims to help make education and training more affordable. The allowance is paid to the parents of 16 and 17 year olds to help with the costs of education and training.

How can I apply?

Parents need to apply for the It Pays to Learn Allowance by completing a simple application form.

A letter from the Minister and the application form will be sent home with each eligible student in Term 1 2008.

Where do I send my form?

Completed application forms must be returned with your child to the school or training provider they are enrolled with.

All applications will then be processed and a cheque will be sent directly to parents.

Payments can only be made once the application form is received so parents are encouraged to apply promptly.
