Information about these courses
for 2005 is as follows:





TAMMIN ALCOA LANDCARE EDUCATION
CENTRE 2005
Professional Development Courses are offered to Teachers and
Community Leaders seeking knowledge and skills to incorporate
in class studies and field activities.
Participants are provided with resources and strategies that
compliment Curriculum Frameworks and Student Outcomes, while
addressing a range of environmental issues.
Courses are residential with accommodation, catering, field
transport and resources provided for a cost of $77.00 (including GST).

June 30 - July 1
July 21 - 22
August 18 - 20
September 15 - 16
October 13 - 14
Three-day courses commence Thursdays at
approximately 5.30pm and conclude Saturdays
at approximately 1.00pm. Two-day courses commence at
approximately 9am on the first morning and conclude late afternoon
the following day.
The course covers:
An overview of the landcare ethic, aims and objectives.
The role of landcare education.
Recognising causes and solutions to degradation.
School & community projects.
Field activities and strategies.
Landcare resources.

DEVELOPMENT COURSE
TAMMIN ALCOA LANDCARE EDUCATION CENTRE
Landcare Education Professional Development Courses will be
held in 2005 on the following dates:
April 12-14, June 16-18,
June 30-July 1, July 21-22, August 18-20, September 15-16 and
October 13-14
All two day workshops run from approximately 9am on the first day
through to late afternoon/early evening the following day. Three
day workshops run from Thursday evening through to Saturday
lunchtime. Travel time from Perth by road to Tammin is approximately
2 hours. Both the Prospector and the AvonLink provide rail
transport to and from Tammin.
Course cost is $77.00 (including GST) and covers accommodation,
meals, field transport and resources. Please make cheques payable to the
Shire of Tammin
and forward with the registration form to the Landcare Education
Officer at the Midlands District Education
Office – address below.
Teachers or their schools are responsible for accommodation/catering
(ie course costs) and travel costs to and from Tammin. (Accommodation
and catering is currently $77.00 per course, but subject to change.)
One day teacher relief funding is available per teacher
