Welcome to the Goldfields Education District, a place of educational innovation, diversity and uniqueness spawned from its rich cultural heritage.

Covering an area of approximately 1 million square kilometers, this education district stretches from Kiwirrkurra in the north, to Southern Cross in the west and south to Kambalda. The district has three education precincts that offer outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for educators and for students.

The Kalgoorlie precinct has 17 schools located in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Kambalda, Coolgardie, Marvel Loch, Southern Cross, and Yintarri Remote Community School which also has an education annex located at the remote community of Tjuntjuntjarra All schools are modern and well equipped and the senior high school for example has just recently undergone a multi million dollar refurbishment. This school operates on a split campus model with the middle school campus located on the Boomerang Street site and the senior campus collocated with Curtin University Kalgoorlie.

The North Country precinct has 6 schools located in Menzies, Laverton, Leonora, Leinster, Mount Margaret and Wiluna. With the exception of Leonara which is a District High School, these schools offer comprehensive learning programs from Kindergarten to Year 7 with secondary schooling on site through the School of Isolated and Distance Education available to students who choose to remain in their home communities for secondary education.
