Aboriginal Education Team
The Aboriginal Education Team is committed to improving the educational outcomes of Aboriginal students through assisting schools with the implementation of the Aboriginal Education and Training Operational Plan. This team;
- Provides strategic leadership to schools in the area of Aboriginal education.
- Assists schools with the development and implementation of strategies to improve learning outcomes for Aboriginal students.
- Liaises and negotiates with external clients and parents.
- Develops and implements district-based programs.
District Curriculum Team
CURRICULUM IMPROVEMENT MANAGER – Peta Lawrence
- Responsible for coordinating support to progress the full implementation of the Curriculum Framework and Outcomes and Standards Framework
- Provides leadership and strategic support in the provision of DET and district Curriculum Services
- Provides policy advice to schools
- Provides advice and support to the District Director on curriculum issues and systemic initiatives. Communicates best practice and innovative curriculum strategies in order to ensure accountability and quality assurance for curriculum within the district
- Communicates with schools in the district, Central Office staff, parents and other community members, professional associations and other agencies.
- Promotes the Education Department’s ethos and purpose and responds to inquiries from community members and parents concerning its curriculum policies and operations
- Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of system and district programs and initiatives across the district.
DISTRICT CURRICULUM CONSULTANTS - Katie Tomlinson, Lynley Neill and Nicola Rose
- Liaison with school leaders, district and central officers to develop and implement the Curriculum Improvement Program and related modules
- Provision of targeted support in schools to provide a framework for whole school approaches in Literacy, Numeracy and Science
- Provision of professional learning strategy on assessment for improvement
- Support with moderation activities
- Provision of advice for early intervention strategies
- Support of school leaders and staff to coordinate the Curriculum Improvement Program Phase 2, School Information System and associated professional learning related to systemic priorities
District Operations Team
Manager District Operations
- Manages day to day operations of the Esperance Education District Office.
- Provides support to schools in the implementation of system wide strategies and programs.
- Coordinates communications with schools, the general public, central office and the media.
- Provides professional administrative and operational support to the District Director
Finance and Administration Officer:
- Provides advisory support to schools in financial management and planning of school budgets.
- Organisation and Provision of professional development to school staff on financial management and systems issues.
- Assist schools with the implementation of the RM Finance, Billing and Assets modules of the School Information System.
- Provides comprehensive financial management and administrative support services to the district office.
District Operations Support Officer:
- Provides advisory and operational support to schools in the areas of:
- Allocation of support staff in schools
- Vacancy management and recruitment of support staff
- Capital Works
- Restorative maintenance
- Induction and training of cleaners and gardeners
- Oval restoration
- Weed spraying and green waste management
Administration Assistant:
- Provides administrative and clerical support to the District Director and Managers.
Clerical Assistant:
- Assists with the day to day running of the Esperance office and general reception and clerical duties.
Student Services Team
The Student Services Team aims to support and assist schools to improve the learning outcomes of their students. The multi-disciplinary team is driven by key Departmental policies and initiatives. Areas of focus are;
