VIETNAM 1962 - 1973
Australia's military involvement in the Vietnam War was the longest in duration of any war in Australia's history. That involvement lasted over eleven years, between August 1962 and June 1973. The Australian commitment consisted predominantly of Army personnel, but significant numbers of Air Force and Navy personnel and some civilians also took part.

The Department of Veterans' Affairs developed a resource kit Australia and the Vietnam War for primary and secondary students which will enable students to gain a wider understanding of Australia's efforts during the Vietnam War.
