    Australian Children's Choice Awards
    There are numerous children's choice book awards in Australia, state based and national. In each case children are the judges, voting for their favourite book.

    Australian Readers' Challenge
    The 2006 ARC report detailing achievements is now available. From 2007, Indigenous literacy became the core fundraising project for the Australian Book Industry.

    Children's Book Week
    Book Week 2008 Date: 16-22 August
    Theme: "Fuel your mind"

    International School Library Month
    Held in October each year. Theme for 2008 is "Literacy and learning at your School Library".

    MS Readathon
    The MS Readathon is Australia's premier literacy and fundraising program, filled with exciting reading opportunities, rewards, games, and competitions. It's the Rewarding way for children and schools to read to change the lives of people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

    National Literacy and Numeracy Week
    In 2008, National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW) will be held from 1-7 September.

    The Australian Library and Information Association organises National Simultaneous Storytime every year. The aim is to promote the value of reading and literacy, promote the value of books, promote an Australian writer and publisher, and promote storytime activities in public libraries around the country.
