Investigating Polyhedra Worksheet
There are five platonic solids. Your task is to find out about them and to write a report about what you have found. Your report should include:
what they are called.
a brief description of each.
how they are formed (you should include diagrams; you may also wish to include nets of the polyhedron).
anything else you found out about the platonic solids (are they symmetrical? what do their cross section look like? etc)
Try to construct a polyhedron.
Sources of information include:
your textbook.
library resources.
encyclopedias.
The Internet (e.g. search strategies/homework helpers and www.georgehart.com/virtual-polyhedra/vp.html).
