Checklist for Viewing, Reading and Responding, Levels 4-7

This checklist is based on phrases taken from the Outcomes and Standards Framework for LOTE. It's important that it is not used to assign a level to a particular task but as one indication among many that students are demonstrating work at a particular level.

Since my students have been demonstrating work at Viewing, Reading and Responding Levels 4-6, phrases are taken from Levels 4-7 in order to allow for their development. I can tick, date or write brief comments in the columns as I see demonstrated evidence.

Since the phrase Views and reads mainly authentic texts containing familiar and unfamiliar language appears at Levels 5 and 6, I include it only at Level 5. The other criterion distinguishes work at Level 6 from work at Level 5.
