Culture Strong, Career Proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy 2008 - 2010 and the Action Plan 2008 establishes strategies aimed at recruitment and retention, a supportive work environment and career pathways. (DET)
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Policy (DEST) The policy spells out 21 long-term national goals for Indigenous education programs and has been endorsed by the Australian Government, as well as all State and Territory governments.

Indigenous Education Programme, Strategic Recurrent Assistance (SRA) Element The Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) provides funding through SRA to assist the Department of Education and Training in achieving improved educational outcomes for Aboriginal students. The Directorate reports annually to DEST on achievements of schools and training providers in meeting agreed targets.
